Nurse Betty elicits a primary emotional response of Humor due to its absurd premise of a delusional woman believing a soap opera is real, leading to many comedic situations and character interactions. This is complemented by strong feelings of Joy and Happiness as audiences root for Betty's innocent journey and find delight in the film's lighter moments. However, the underlying Crime genre introduces significant Anxiety and Anticipation as Betty is pursued by dangerous hitmen, creating tension and suspense. Empathy is also a key emotion, felt for Betty's traumatic experience and her innocent, yet misguided, quest, as well as for the surprisingly complex hitman, Charlie. There's also an element of Sadness stemming from Betty's initial tragedy and the bittersweet nature of her delusion.
