Panic Room

Panic Room primarily elicits intense feelings of Anxiety and Anticipation, as the audience is kept on edge by the constant threat of burglars trying to breach the secure panic room where a mother and daughter are trapped. Fear is a pervasive emotion due to the direct danger to the protagonists, especially the vulnerable daughter. Empathy is strongly felt for Meg and Sarah's desperate situation, while Anger is directed towards the intruders. The home invasion scenario also evokes a sense of the Disturbing, punctuated by moments of Surprise from plot twists and eventual Relief and Satisfaction as the tense standoff resolves.
