Franz Kafka's a Country Doctor

In the dead of night, an ageing doctor nearly at the end of his life is summoned to attend a young boy on his deathbed. However, his horse has died in the freezing night and having no other means of transportation, the worried physician accepts an offer from a mysterious man he finds on his doorstep. Will the doctor make it in time, moreover, save the boy's life?
